An Update from 2009 and beyond!

Wow, now this is what I was saying, there has been a LOT of blessings and struggles that we have missed, or I just can't remember because it was two years ago and I have a mom brain that has a hard time staying focused on the past half hour or less!

The last time I posted something other than a promise to be better at this, we were in Feb. 2009.  At that time we were expecting our 5th child in June of that year.  Well, I am going to start there because her arrival was of the utmost importance that year.

I will spare all the details other than she arrived!!  Well, I'll tell you a little more!  She was born at home with midwives in attendance and sisters and dear friend by my side.  It was an extremely long labor compared to our Emmet who arrived in less than 2 hours with no one in attendance but Daddy.  She was born the morning of June 29, 2009.  Mommy had been in labor just a little less than 24 hours.  She was 9 lbs. 12 oz. and about 20 inches long.  She was a sweet little petite thing who we fell in love with as soon as we knew she was conceived.   Here are some of our favorite pictures from that blessed day.....

As you can see she is a priceless gift just like all or our other children.  Here are a couple more pictures of her from the last year and a half.  She has only gotten cuter and sweet with time and just like any child adds challenge and joy to our lives.

Well that was a lot of pictures and they didn't post in order, but they are dated off to the side, as I am sure you have figured out.  So there is our sweetness!  A blessing from our God!

Hello, Again!

So I made this "promise" that I'd be better about my posting......what was that January of 2010?  Yea, over a year ago.  I have come to a place of choosing.  Our lives here in our home are so chocked FULL of things, that my time on the computer is truly very limited.

Up until now I would spend my few spare minutes (or more unspared moments) checking e-mail and Facebook.  I have enjoyed it up to now, but I am feeling more the desire to "chronicle" our lives.  It won't be long now and I'll look back and these days will be gone, and with little written about them.  I enjoy my journaling and I think this way I can truly share and as my children get older they can come back here and read some of our journeys.

SO, I have a shift in focus.  I will miss the "conversation" on Facebook and will probably check back in every once in awhile.  It has been a wonderful way to meet new babies who have joined families and even a way to stay connected with family and friends, but it's all the extra stuff that gets distracting.  It distracts me from my reality, which has been given fully to me by God and I want to live it to the fullest.  And I say full because it is very much FULL.  I don't feel like I have been a good steward of that gift.

With all of that said, her I go!  Of course I will begin with my next post, catching up on the most important highlights of the last 2 years.
