Four Months In

We pulled into the hotel down here just after lunchtime on a Sunday afternoon at the end of January. The next day was the first day on the new job....well, the first time Guy started working at his new post down here in Sunny Miami. In a week after being here, we would take possession of our new home while we are here for the next several years.

I can't say it was the beginning of our new life, that all started the day he drove away just short of a year ago to start training up in Virgina.  But now, now we are together. The whirlwind process of getting us here was breathtaking to say the least, and we are still trying to catch our breath after leaving our home of fourteen years together.  Friends, family....we drove away with full and heavy hearts, but we had each other.  We are home now as long as we are together. Healing begins.

Here are some pictures from our week long stay in the hotel in Miami before our move into our home.  It was a cozy week to say the least!  It was truly a great time together.

So here we are almost four months in.  Today Guy was up early for work and out the door. I started the day with our three little ones lined up at the counter on stools, one in a highchair, eating cheerios while I made my morning dose of coffee.  The older three where somewhere in the process of showering, dressing, and making beds.  Soon we had school in full swing and I'd got the littles dressed and ready for play.  As the day progressed, lunchtime, chores and more play, with necessary rough-housing to get out the pent up energy from school.   A pretty typical day for us with Guy coming home from work, the boys attacking him which leads to a wrestling match, dress-up for the girls because when it's their turn to pummel Dad, they are gonna do it princess-style! Dinner happens somewhere in there, then it's the bedtime routine for the little people. That's us, in varying scenarios with a lot more bumps, kinks, and moments of utter dysfunction. Love every moment of it.

There is a lot to share in that time in between pulling into the hotel parking spot and the kids getting to bed later then normal tonight, but I will try to post little tidbits as I can.  I am doing this to share our adventure, as we like to call this new life of travel, but also to have this for our children to look back on and see how "masterful this stroke in the painting of our lives" is, that the LORD has given. So I will end this post with some pictures of our beginning in this new place.

This is a picture of the front of our home before we moved in.

The house has a pool, we added the fence for the children's safety.
 More pictures to come!
